That was simply a gathering of people with lust to get piece of land in Addis Ababa, and those who already secured it. I recognize the right of people to support EPRDF, but I always condemn making political decisions for the sake of securing financial benefit. The concept of state (HAGER) is much higher than urban plot of land, job, government loan or any other financial benefit. Unfortunately, we are repeatedly observing BANDAs in the long history of Ethiopia, starting from politicians which betray for winning bread, Diaspora knell for plot of land, civil servant for job security. What a shame!

It is obvious that most of them know what they are supporting well and they are out there to secure their personal interest in one way or another. But I don’t think all of them are the same. May be some of them are out there because they don’t know what this regime is really doing. As we all heard them, they were saying “thank you ETV” and “seeing is believing” which means they are supporting the government because they saw the construction of Buildings, roads and the figures that the government is giving about the economic growth. These peoples are totally victims of the false propaganda of EV. The others may be there because they disappointed by the oppositions. And they may be thinks they can upset the oppositions by going out there. Whatever the motive of the protesters is, the regime benefited from it.
